HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A sand mine company in South Carolina is taking legal action against multiple state agencies and an insurance entity, alleging negligence in connection with a fire that occurred in March 2025.
Soilutions, LLC, based in Horry County, filed a lawsuit under the South Carolina Tort Claims Act and the South Carolina Declaratory Judgment Act. The defendants named in the lawsuit include the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR), the South Carolina Forestry Commission (SCFC), and the South Carolina Insurance Reserve Fund.
