PENSACOLA, Fla. — School zones in Gulf Breeze are about to get new enforcement. Speed cameras are coming next school year.
“One of the biggest complaints we get here in the city is speeding in the school zone,” Gulf Breeze Police Chief Rick Hawthorne said. “We’re very unique the way our school zone is, unfortunately, with all three schools being right next to each other. The school lights are on for two and a half hours in the morning and two and a half hours in the afternoon. It’s a major highway.”
