The Rincon Classic to Run on Super Bowl Weekend, and the Forecast Looks Great

After a couple of yellow alerts, the green flag is out. The 2026 Rincon Classic will run this weekend, coinciding not only with the Super Bowl (happening 300 hundred miles north), but with a finely angled pulse of west swell.

At its core, the contest is a community-oriented event, and the competitor list proves it: this year’s event will have 12 divisions, from 12-and-under groms to Super Legends age 65 and up. But kids, salty dogs and pros alike could be in for a sweet day of surfing on Saturday, February 7, as a fresh west swell, clocked by Surfline at 6 feet at 14 seconds, wraps around the point. If that holds, we should see overhead rights and offshore winds provide plenty of highlights.

The professional division, supported by Channel Islands Surfboards and Rincon Brewery, is as loaded as it has ever been. The full draw includes: Dane Reynolds, Tom Curren, Mikey February, Bobby Martinez, Conner Coffin, Parker Coffin, Dimitri Poulos, Eithan Osborne, Jabe Swierkocki, Kilian Garland and two wildcards decided by the CI team.
