WILMINGTON, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle that shut down a section of South Maryland Avenue Tuesday evening and left one man dead.
Troopers said the crash occurred on February 3, 2026, at approximately 8:20 p.m. on South Maryland Avenue near Reamer Avenue. According to investigators, a Toyota Tacoma was stopped in the left eastbound lane of South Maryland Avenue while waiting to turn left onto Reamer Avenue. At the same time, a Dodge Ram was stopped at the stop sign on southbound Reamer Avenue.
Police allege that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound in the left lane of South Maryland Avenue toward Reamer Avenue at an apparent high rate of speed when the Toyota began its left turn.
