11-year-old cancer survivor named Blood Cancer United’s Wisconsin hero

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – An 11-year-old cancer survivor is the honored hero for Blood Cancer United’s Big Climb Wisconsin fundraiser this year.

Liam Sanborn was first diagnosed with leukemia at 11 months old. After treatments, he was diagnosed with the disease multiple more times. WMTV first brought you his story in 2019.

Blood Cancer United is teaming up with NFL Hall of Famer and former Badgers offensive lineman, Joe Thomas, for the fundraiser.
