NRG Sells Its Last Omaha Station To Nebraska Public Media.

NRG Media, having just announced the sale of five stations in its Omaha-Council Bluffs, NE cluster to Usher Media, has spun off the only one remaining, adult hits “101.9 The Keg” KOOO-FM, to Nebraska Public Media, which will convert the license to noncommercial public radio.

The acquisition gives Nebraska Public Media a dedicated signal in the market. Currently, it counts news/talk KIOS (91.5), operated by the City of Omaha School District, as one of its 10 affiliate stations across the state.

According to Nebraska Public Media’s news release, the format for the 101.9 signal will feature “news/talk programming offering comprehensive coverage of national and international news, alongside Omaha news, weather and information, and statewide news updates, including daily coverage of the Nebraska Legislature when in session.”…
