Public hearing set following Mills County Conference Board vote to terminate employment of county assessor

(Glenwood) — Mills County officials have voted to terminate the employment of the county assessor.

By unanimous vote at its meeting on Friday, the Mills County Conference Board approved terminating the employment of County Assessor Christina Govig, effective February 19th. The board’s action also included placing Govig on administrative leave until that effective date. The board’s decision came after a closed session discussion on the matter.

Comprised of the county board of supervisors, mayors, and school district representatives within the county, the conference board oversees the county assessor’s office, including the appointment of the assessor and other personnel and budget matters.
