Central West End apartment building hit by fire during snowstorm is condemned

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The City of St. Louis Building Division has condemned an apartment building that was damaged by a fire in January.

A four-alarm fire broke out at the Chesterfield, which is located at Waterman and Union, on January 24. A resident told First Alert 4 there has not been much communication from the building’s owners about the next steps for tenants.

“I’m just really kind of feeling written off at this point, it’s like, okay, they know I have temporary housing, you have renters’ insurance, so they’re moving onto the other buildings that they still have,” said resident Penny Warren…
