ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The owners of Gustafson’s Furniture and Mattress in Rockford are responding to rumors circulating online that the business has closed its doors after 98 years.
Customers visiting Gustafson’s over the past few days found the doors locked, and a sign indicating the business was closed for “inventory and maintenance.”
Phone calls to Gustafson’s were not answered, and unreceived delivery notices from UPS and FedEx were seen attached to the front doors, leading to speculation in online forums that the company had gone out of business…
