It may not be analogous to a phoenix rising from the ashes, but June & Co. — or June & Co. 2.0, as owners Peter and Kendel Froese like to call it — aligns with the concept: a fiery bird (or, in this case, an ultra-tiny bar) regenerates from its own ashes (or, in this case, a lease that was not renewed) to live again, symbolizing resilience and transformation.
Peter Froese has demonstrated resilience and transformation in spades during the two-and-a-half years that the original June & Co., which was a five-minute walk from his Gander and Ryegrass restaurant, was forced to shutter. And now that it has reopened in a new, larger space, about a 10-minute walk from the restaurant, he says he’s again looking forward rather than backward.
