MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Baxter North Cove, one of the biggest manufacturing employers in western North Carolina, announced it has laid off 3% of its staff.
One former employee, who asked to remain anonymous, says that nearly a week ago, they walked through the doors at Baxter, clocked in for their shift, and within 30 minutes, their life changed.
“He goes, ‘Well, first I just want to say thank you for your years of service,’ and as soon as he said that, my stomach dropped,” the former employee said…
