JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — The Jefferson County Vice and Narcotics Division, in collaboration with the Jefferson County SNET Team and MACC Detectives, executed arrest warrants on Feb. 3, 2026, for Vernon Lamont Christon, 46, in the 3000 block of Wenonah Park Road SW, Birmingham, Ala.
The sheriff’s office said Christon attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended without incident and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
He faces charges including trafficking cocaine, trafficking MDMA, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Sheriff Mark Pettway said, “This suspect has been eluding law enforcement for some time now. I am impressed with the patience of our specialized units and their collaborative efforts to pursue him and get dangerous drugs and a weapon from the streets of Jefferson County.”…
