HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) — A Homewood hotel that was shut down over safety concerns has been given a chance to make repairs.
The Quality Inn on Vulcan Road was shut down in December. Wednesday night, the Homewood Abatement Board had to vote whether it should be deemed an “unsafe structure.”
Instead, the Homewood Abatement Board gave the owner of the Quality Inn, Peter Patel, 30 days to address a number of safety recommendations, including restricting access to the property, closing elevated walkways, landings and stairs, stopping water from leaking and removing loose overhead materials at walkways…
