TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Department announced the conclusion of a three-month enforcement initiative on February 5, 2026, resulting in the arrest of 55 individuals.

The program, titled “Operation: Safer Streets,” focused on identifying and apprehending chronic offenders to address recurring criminal activity within city neighborhoods.

The operation moved beyond general narcotics enforcement by targeting individuals with extensive violent criminal histories. During the three-month period, law enforcement recovered a firearm along with quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, and various other illegal narcotics.
