Sheetz plans to open 14 new convenience stores in southeast Michigan this year as part of a half-billion-dollar investment in the state, the chain said on Wednesday.
Sheetz broke ground on its first Michigan store near Detroit in March 2024 and it opened in August 2024. It said at the time that it planned to build up to 60 locations in the Detroit area over the next five to six years.
- Sheetz is No. 13 on CSP’s 2025 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.
The new locations planned for 2026 span multiple municipalities, including Eastpointe, Ypsilanti, Warren, Taylor, Novi, Fraser, Orion Township, Macomb, Shelby Township, Belleville and Royal Oak, Sheetz said.
“This is an incredibly exciting year for Sheetz in Michigan,” said Nick Ruffner, public affairs manager. “We can’t wait to become part of these communities, and we look forward to serving the specific needs of our neighbors in each of these areas. Whether that’s satisfying late-night cravings, providing a quick fill-up or offering a safe space to gather, we’re committed to creating places where both customers and employees feel welcomed.”…
