KRON4 security guard Kevin Nishita’s killer pleads guilty: DA’s office

(KRON) — Three suspects connected to the killing of KRON4 security guard Kevin Nishita entered plea deals on Thursday.

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office said the alleged shooter, Laron Gilbert, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, including enhancements.

Gilbert faces 30 years to life in prison.

The other two defendants, Hershel Hale and Shadihia Mitchell, pleaded no contest to robbery, according to the DA’s office. They each face up to 25 years in prison.
