Settlement in crash that killed truck driver, Florida trooper awaits judge’s approval

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — A settlement has apparently been reached and is being finalized in the wrongful-death case stemming from the February 2024 Interstate 95 crash that killed truck driver Arsenio Mas and Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Zachary Fink.

Documents filed Monday in St. Lucie County show the parties involved have struck an agreement, but it must still be approved by a judge before the case can officially close.

This case has been the subject of extensive legal back-and-forth for more than a year — beginning with the initial wrongful-death lawsuit filed by Mas’ family in January 2025.
