Local woman who assaulted officers in Walmart after leaving animals in car enters plea deal

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A woman who was facing seven counts of cruelty to animals, one count of resisting arrest and one count of assault after attacking police officers in a Toledo Walmart has entered a plea deal.

According to police, the woman attacked officers in a Walmart as they questioned her about malnourished animals found in her hot vehicle.

Court records show Dawn Wiard entered a guilty plea to an attempted assault charge and three counts of cruelty to animals. According to the records, the resisting arrest charge and four other counts of cruelty to animals will be dropped at sentencing…
