A group of Oregon residents organized as a corporation has sued the city and four councilmen to challenge how a new councilman was appointed after Steven Salander’s ascent to the mayor’s office.
The lawsuit that Responsible Government 4 Oregon LLC filed last week in Lucas County Common Pleas Court contends that council violated the Ohio Open Meetings Act when it appointed David Andrus to council Dec. 8.
The suit contends that an earlier award of severance pay to City Administrator Joel Mazur after he submitted on Nov. 24 his resignation effective Jan. 31 also broke the law in that neither notice nor legislative action occurred in that regard at all…
