Nearly six years after a statue of Christopher Columbus was removed from Wilmington during the aftermath of the police-involved killing of George Floyd in 2020, it’s future remains unknown.
City Councilwoman Shané Darby has authored a resolution attempting to urge the City of Wilmington to not reinstall the statue at Father Tucker Park in Little Italy, or on any other public property in the city.
