Texas DPS increasing statewide patrols on Sunday

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Public Safety announced that it will increase statewide patrol for the big game on Sunday.

Texas DPS stated that on Feb. 8, troopers will be patrolling until midnight, looking for drivers who are speeding, driving under the influence, not wearing a seatbelt, and committing other traffic violations.

“DPS is rooting for a great game and safe roadways across Texas this Sunday,” said Texas Highway Patrol Chief Bryan Rippee. “With increased enforcement and a strong Trooper presence statewide, our focus is on preventing impaired driving, speeding, and other dangerous behaviors so everyone can enjoy the game and then make it home safely.”…
