Cartel camps had drugs, shrine to La Santa Muerte

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Mexican authorities say they have found and dismantled three drug cartel camps in the border state of Chihuahua in the last week.

One such camp was on a hill overlooking the main highway to Ojinaga, which is across the border from Presidio, Texas. The camp was being used by 10 to 15 individuals and had a fortified observation area.

A police helicopter crew flying over a highway on Jan. 30 due to recent organized criminal activity found the encampment and notified Chihuahua state police ground units. The place was empty when they arrived…
