Popular Green Bay restaurant temporarily closed after decades-old boiler ‘tapped out’

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A popular Green Bay restaurant located in one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks has temporarily closed after its decades-old boiler ‘tapped out’ recently.

The Depot announced on Facebook that it will be temporarily closed after its 30-year-old broiler, lovingly nicknamed Selma, broke down.

The post noted that they are actively working to get The Depot back open, but are doing things “the right way” instead of rushing a temporary fix.

The restaurant will be installing a brand-new heating system that will “serve the building properly for years to come.”

“Much like her Simpsons namesake, Selma was cranky, smoky, and held on longer than anyone expected… but today she tapped out,” The Depot’s Facebook post joked. “We’ll be closed briefly while we bring in a warm, modern replacement and get this old train station cozy again.”
