When the weather is yuck, getting your family dog out for some exercise can be difficult. That’s why indoor dog parks have become a thing. Not just for the winter though, bad weather can arrive in any season, and doesn’t always adhere to your schedule.
Little dogs, big dogs, groups and more love to play and socialize
Over the years these parks have grown in size and amenities, and in Missouri there are several places to take your dog for an indoor workout session. One, however, stands out for size and options. Would you consider taking a road trip just to get your dog some well-deserved extra sized play time, and socialization.
CITYDOGs is finding success with open play dog socialization
Wedged into a spot on the south side of downtown Kansas City, CITYDOGsmakes the most of their space between Summit Street, West 24th Street, Southwest Boulevard and I-35 (or as they say in KC “35 Highway”). CITYDOGs offers 10,000 square feet of indoor space for dogs to play off-leash. They also have 40,000 square feet of outdoor off-leash play space. If you have a smaller dog (under 25 pounds) there is a special small dog park so they don’t get overwhelmed.

You can schedule play time for your dog (or dogs), and memberships are available, plus they offer grooming, training, daycare and boarding. The park can be reserved for parties, and they regularly have local food trucks on site and local beer on tap. The concept is working because CITYDOGs is in the process of expanding to locations in other states.
