Iberia Parish School Board passes speed camera deal with city

IBERIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) — The Iberia Parish School Board has voted to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the City of New Iberia tied to the city’s school zone speed camera program, a move aimed at bringing the system into compliance with state law.

The agreement, often referred to as a CEA, is required under Louisiana law for municipalities that operate automated speed enforcement in school zones. It governs how the program operates and how revenue generated from citations is shared between the city and the school governing authority.
