Farmington Mayor Joshua Hoyt has resigned from office, effective immediately. In a letter submitted on Wednesday, Hoyt said his decision was to “focus on my mental health.”
“Serving our community has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Hoyt said. “I am profoundly grateful for the trust you placed in me, the dedication of our city staff, and the passion and resilience of our residents. Together, we have worked through challenges, celebrated progress, and laid foundations that I believe will continue to serve our city well into the future.”
Council Member Nick Lien will take Hoyt’s place as acting mayor, and the council will vote on accepting his resignation on Feb. 17, the city said in a news release…
