DC felon receives prison term for firearm, drug charges

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A convicted felon in the District was sentenced to three years in prison for illegally possessing a firearm and trafficking drugs.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia said that 29-year-old John Calvin Harris was sentenced Thursday for charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon and possession with intent to distribute amphetamine and cocaine base.

Harris will have to serve an additional three years of supervised release after his prison sentence.
