DENVER (KDVR) — Meows can be heard from one Aurora neighborhood as residents try to rescue a cat, Chato, that’s been stuck on a power line pole for five days.
Nely Aguilera said she was moving in on Sunday when her two cats escaped through the door. She was able to wrangle one of them, but Chato kept escaping her grasp. Aguilera had to leave for work, and even came back at one point, but had no luck. By night and into the next day, she couldn’t find Chato.

That is, until he was spotted perched ontop of a nearby power line pole. However, getting a cat from the tall spot isn’t as easy as just calling the fire department.
An average ladder only reaches up to their fence, and the cat is much higher up on the pole. Aguilera has also tried using an object to guide the cat down the pole, but it won’t come down.
A neighbor, Janet, said she’s spent over eight hours trying to get authorities to come and get the cat down from the pole.

Janet then said she called tree services at AAA, but they said they couldn’t get the cat since it was on a power line. Janet said she called two electric companies, including Xcel Energy, and the City of Aurora, who transferred her to animal protection, which said the cat would come down on its own, or to use a ladder…
