Berthoud, Colo. – A barricaded suspect was arrested near Carter Lake early Monday after an alleged assault prompted a multi-hour law enforcement response in Larimer County.
According to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call just after midnight reporting an argument that allegedly escalated into a physical assault. The caller said the suspect repeatedly pushed and punched another man, knocking him unconscious, before leaving the scene in a vehicle. The suspect was also reported to be intoxicated and driving on a revoked license.
Deputies and medical personnel responded, and the injured victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators determined the two men knew each other and quickly identified the suspect as a resident south of Carter Lake…
