Concrete company faces $500K fine in Guatemalan immigrant’s death

BOSTON — An East Freetown concrete company faces an up to $500,000 fine and five years of probation when it’s sentenced on May 4 for willfully violating federal safety standards in a 2023 incident that led to an employee’s death.

John Oliveira & Sons Stamp Concrete Inc. could also be ordered to pay restitution to the family of the deceased.
