HIGH POINT, N.C. (WBTV) – An ex-convict was charged with murder this week, more than 23 years after he allegedly killed a woman in central North Carolina.
The ex-con — 61-year-old Ricky Dean Cox — was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 3. He was accused of killing 51-year-old Betty Moore at her house on Coltrane Avenue in High Point back in October 2002.
A detective with the High Point Police Department revisited the case in 2025, and after going over notes and reports, he interviewed Cox in November.
