The boy suffered severe injuries when the firecracker went off at approximately 9 a.m. local time on Thursday, Feb. 5, in Oceanside, Calif., according to NBC San Diego, citing the Oceanside Fire Department. The incident took place at a home on North Horne Street, west of Interstate 5 and north of Mission Avenue, the outlet reports.
