Oxnard man charged in alcohol robbery in Thousand Oaks

An Oxnard man was charged in Ventura County Superior Court with felony second-degree robbery and two misdemeanors on Feb. 5 after stealing liquor from a grocery store in Thousand Oaks, authorities said.

The charges stem from a Feb. 2 incident where a man entered a Ralphs supermarket and attempted to steal multiple bottles of tequila and shoved an employee, according to a Ventura County Sheriff’s Office news release. The sheriff’s office provides police services for the city of Thousand Oaks.

A store employee had seen the man put bottles into a cardboard box and attempt to leave the store without paying, the sheriff’s office said. An employee confronted the man, but the man used his shoulder to push the employee away from him and flee, according to authorities…
