MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) — Ten Mount Pleasant Police Department officers accused of cheating on a self-administered online test have prompted the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy to review protocols for online testing.
The officers are accused of cheating on an online recertification for a breathalyzer device. Academy Director Jackie Swindler said this is not the first time the academy has seen an officer attempt to cheat online.
Swindler said years ago they found a former officer who was “bragging” on social media about taking a two-hour test in 20 minutes. The academy quickly changed its online courses after that incident to track how long an officer now spends on a test or course…
