Man shot by Lexington police dies Thursday night as investigation continues

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — New information has been released in the officer-involved shooting that shut down Alumni Drive near Yellowstone Parkway earlier this week.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office confirms Brooks Plemmons, 40, of Clemmons, North Carolina, died Thursday night at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. The coroner says the cause and manner of death will be determined pending an autopsy.

As previously reported, investigators with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office began working the case earlier this week after responding to a domestic-related aggravated assault report at a hospital.
