(KMDL-FM) While much of the attention of South Louisiana this weekend will be divided among the NFL’s “Big Game” and several high-profile Mardi Gras parades, there is another holiday lurking. It’s not this weekend, but it’s next weekend, and it’s not an easy holiday for the fellows. Of course, it’s Valentine’s Day
I say it’s not easy for the fellows because there is a fine line between doing enough and doing too much, especially if you’re not in a Facebook Official committed relationship.
Valentine’s Day Happens on the Saturday Before Mardi Gras This Year
Now, if you’re in a relationship, you might have some wiggle room, especially when you consider that there will be even more Mardi Gras events on next weekend’s schedule and on Valentine’s Day itself.
But just because a few thousand of your closest friends want you to join them on a parade route, that doesn’t mean you can’t provide a little romance for the day or the evening. And yes, it’s possible to be romantic in the daylight, it just doesn’t get the Hollywood treatment the way candlelight dinners do.

Should I have Already Made a Reservation for Valentine’s Day?
So, if you are looking for the stereotypical “gaze longingly into their eyes” kind of a meal, I would suggest you make a reservation now, or, actually, in some of these fine places, you might be too late. That doesn’t mean you can’t try. And in the event your first choice is booked up, you probably need a backup plan.
