Proposed grocery store no longer being developed in South End community of Little Rock

A proposed grocery store will not be coming to Little Rock’s South End neighborhood after the city’s Board of Directors voted against a rezoning request for a vacant lot on Marshall Street. Neighbors say the decision reflects what the community wanted all along.

To someone passing through the neighborhood, the lot may look abandoned. For South End residents, it is a reminder of the time they stood up for what they wanted, or in this case, what they did not want.
