Overland Park house fire leaves 3 displaced; 2 hospitalized

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) – Firefighters battled a two-alarm house fire early Thursday morning that displaced three and hospitalized two others for smoke inhalation.

Overland Park Fire Department units were dispatched to a house fire at 186th and Lamar shortly after 1 a.m. on Feb.5. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire showing from the garage and back side of the two-story, single-family home.

All residents were reported safely out of the home when crews arrived. Firefighters immediately began attacking the fire while additional crews searched to confirm everyone had evacuated.

The fire had spread into the interior living spaces and attic of the home. Due to the extent of the blaze, a second alarm was called for additional manpower…
