A cold front on Tuesday prompted a chilly day on Wednesday, with clouds not helping the chill factor. Wednesday night into Thursday morning, very cold air brings back a chance for refreeze, causing a risk for black ice and slick spots on the roadways. This warrants extra time and a slow pace for the Thursday morning commute to work and school.
Temperatures warm up quickly, though, on Thursday, with a warm, westerly wind kicking in and lots of sunshine. Highs will reach above normal for this time of year in the state, some possibly even cracking into the 60s by Thursday afternoon (mainly in southwestern and western Arkansas).
