Webster Groves City Manager To Resign Effective April 3, Former Fire Chief Speaks Out About “Toxic Leadership”

In a surprising move, but one that several current and former employees, residents and business leaders say is long overdue, Webster Groves City Manager Marie Peoples publicly resigned at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.

Peoples, nor anyone with the city, has said why she resigned. Her resignation is effective April 3.

In a resignation letter to the council, Peoples said her “on-site service” will continue through March 6. For the final 30 days of the 60-day notice period, she will work from out of the office. Peoples will then enter a 60-day consulting period from April 3 to June 5, according to the letter…
