Proposal seeks to change fees for Kansas vehicle registration system

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Sedgwick County officials were in Topeka on Thursday to testify in support of a bill that would allow counties to raise vehicle registration fees.

County Treasurer Brandi Baily said the current fee structure is outdated and forces counties to absorb extra costs.

“It is covered through property taxes, primarily paid by homeowners and property owners, not necessarily by the users of the motor vehicle services,” Baily said.
