Pizzerias come together to host first Colorado Pizza Festival, raise money for hunger

DENVER (KDVR) — Some iconic restaurants are partnering together to help fight food insecurity in Colorado while also bringing the community together to celebrate something good: pizza.

Main Street in Longmont has become known for its pizza with three beloved pizzerias all within a few blocks of each other, including Urban Field Pizza, Rosalee’s Pizzeria and Antonio’s Real New York Pizza.

The pizzerias are now coming together with a common goal of helping to feed the community as well as bring people together with events like the first ever Colorado Pizza Festival, a large-scale international pizza competition.

Urban Field Pizza co-founder and CEO Paul Nashak told FOX31 that the restauranteurs saw how much of an impact the community felt with a lack of SNAP benefits, and they each did their own things to help the local community. Urban Field did a program called Pasta for the People, feeding nearly 10 families in just nine days…
