Dispute between teens causes crash near Thurston High School

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A serious crash in the parking lot of Waypoint Church, across from Thurston High School, has led to multiple charges against a 17-year-old driver, according to the Springfield Police Department.

SPD officials said a dispute between two teenagers preceded the crash. The driver, a former Thurston High School student, was arrested on charges including DUII and second-degree assault. The injured pedestrian is a 14-year-old current Thurston High School student. The teenager was transported to the hospital with significant injuries.
