Albany shelter offers warmth, food, and Super Bowl party during freeze

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- An emergency shelter in Albany is preparing to accommodate more people as temperatures drop this weekend.

Many shelters across the Capital Region have been at full capacity this winter. The Capital City Rescue Mission in Albany is one such shelter.

Officials report that between 275 and 300 people have been staying overnight at the Rescue Mission on South Pearl Street this winter. Executive Director Pastor Perry Jones said the demand for services is higher than last winter…
