Augusta University To Close Main Entrance for Tree Planting Next Week

Augusta University will shut down the main entrance to its Summerville Campus from Feb. 9-11. Two trees will be planted near the Walton Way entrance. Barricades will go up at 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9.

The main entrance and Taylor Street will be blocked from University Hall to the Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre. Barricades stay up through Tuesday, Feb. 10. Crews will remove them once work wraps up on the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Faculty, staff, students, and visitors should enter the campus using Katherine Street on the east end or Arsenal Avenue on the west end. Both streets allow right turns onto Walton Way only…
