Austin Thompson sentencing: State rests case in Raleigh Hedingham shooting hearing

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The fourth day of sentencing proceedings for Austin Thompson, the Raleigh teenager who pleaded guilty last month to the 2022 Hedingham mass shooting, moved forward on Friday at the Wake County Justice Center following three days of emotional testimony.

After over two hours, the court adjourned early Friday as the state concluded its case. Having presented its evidence, the prosecution will call no further witnesses, leaving the defense to take the next turn.
