Cleveland law director inspects Park 85 apartments after tenants report rats, lack of heat

CLEVELAND — A top Cleveland city official visited the Park 85 apartments on Thursday after tenants told 3News they’ve been living in unsafe conditions that have included a rat infestation and a lack of heat and hot water.

The visit came less than 24 hours after 3News aired a report highlighting complaints from residents who say management failed to address ongoing problems inside the HUD-subsidized apartment complex.

“They’re not doing [anything]; they barely want to come out,” one resident said Thursday. “When the lights went off, they offered us a night in a hotel or $100. We ain’t take neither one, because y’all are aware of your problems.”…
