PennDOT reduces speed limit in Mercer County

(WKBN)- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is temporarily reducing the speed limit on interstates in the northwest region due to winter weather on Friday morning.

PennDOT is asking drivers to avoid unnecessary travel, but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:

  • Interstate 79 from Exit 113 (Route 208, Grove City) in Mercer County to the ending point in Erie County.
  • Interstate 80 from the Ohio state line to Exit 42 (Route 38, Emlenton) in Venango County.
  • Interstate 86 from the New York state line to the Interstate 90 interchange in Erie County.
  • Interstate 90 from the New York state line to the Ohio state line.
  • On roadways with speed restrictions, commercial vehicles must move to the right lane.
