Greensboro police investigate death after car found near I-40

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police have reclassified a recent death as a non-homicide investigation after discovering the victim’s vehicle Thursday evening in a creek near Interstate 40.

Officers from the Violent Crime Reduction Team located the vehicle during an extensive foot search off Patterson Street. The vehicle was towed and will be processed as part of the inquiry.

The Crash Reconstruction Unit has joined the investigation. Detectives are examining whether the man may have walked from the crash site to the location where his injured body was later found…
