2 women charged in 11-year-old Horry County girl’s death accused of threatening their co-defendant sister

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Two women charged after the death of an 11-year-old Horry County girl last June were arrested again on Thursday by Myrtle Beach police after allegedly assaulting their sister, a co-defendant, and calling her a “rat” and a “snitch,” according to warrants provided to News13 by the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

The alleged assault happened Monday at the Viking Motel at 1811 S. Ocean Blvd., according to a Myrtle Beach police report. The sisters were women are among six people arrested and charged after A’kyri Bell died on June 13 at a Carolina Forest hospital after suffering head injuries at a home on Sago Palm Drive.

Alantis Thomas and Lakesha Burnett are accused of third-degree assault and battery, a misdemeanor, and intimidation of court officials, jurors, or witnesses. They remain in the Myrtle Beach Jail pending an appearance in city Municipal Court on the intimidation charges…
